Size: I (XS-S)

This is a cropped version of our wrap which serves as a cool alternative to trousers in warm weather months, or a beautiful piece to layer over pants in the cooler months.  Deep side pleats hide in-seam pockets while large doubled back pleats enable full range of motion.

The garment is fabricated in a very airy, textured Japanese organic cotton making it the breeziest bottom we can imagine.

To don the garment:  start with the longer side wrapped around the back at low waist, with the pocket opening aligned to your side, then wrap the skirt around and over itself, tying it off as designed.  Done in this order you will have access to both pockets, but there are many ways to play with this piece.

COMPOSITION:
100% organic cotton

CARE:
Dry-clean, Hand-wash, or machine wash on cold gentle cycle. For best results hang dry.

COLOR:
“Shoji” is a textured, paper-like grayish off-white. It's hard to achieve this neutrality at this lightness and most off-whites tend to be ivory.

Model is 5'11" with a slim waist and is wearing size II.

The fit is very flexible. The difference between sizes will be felt in the length and where the side pockets land.

See the size guide for exact flat measurements of each size.

ETYMOLOGY
Shakkei is a Japanese concept often used in garden design, where the surrounding landscape is integrated into the overall aesthetic. This piece, while potentially a bold statement, harmonizes effortlessly with other elements, serving as a subtle backdrop to the true centerpiece—the individual who wears it.
